This is an intermediate/advanced course for practitioners in the field of anti-social behaviour. It will assume a basic knowledge of the different remedies for anti-social behaviour.
This practical course will cover:
- A revision of injunctions, asbos, and possession proceedings plus a brief overview of environmental powers and the criminal law to combat nuisance and anti-social behaviour
- A refresher on effective evidence gathering, witness statement-taking and model statements
- Hints on effective drafting of papers and model precedents
- Tips on effective advocacy in court
- An opportunity for advocacy role play and group discussion
- A practical question and answer session
Note: Preparation for Advocacy is undertaken in groups by the whole group. Actual Advocacy role play is undertaken by representatives of the group.
