This course is aimed at all officers dealing in the field of anti-social behaviour who need guidance on how mental health issues will affect anti-social behaviour enforcement.

  • Ever wondered what the best solution is to deal with a case where mental health problems are involved?
  • Can you take any court action?
  • Are there other solutions apart from or as well as court?
  • What are your responsibilities as a council or social housing professional?
  • This interactive course will look at identifying and recognising what forms of mental health there may be.
  • We will examine multi agency partnership working to obtain practical help and solutions.
  • Effective remedies in and out of court will be considered.
  • Can you injunct? Can you asbo? Can you evict someone with mental health issues?
  • Court rules will be looked at, together with the role of the Official Solicitor where a defendant with mental health issues is concerned.
  • Up to date case law, the Mental Health Act 1983 and the Disability Discrimination Acts 1995 and 2005 and the Mental Capacity Act will all be considered, and the MHA 1983 and 2007
