Northern Local Government Legal Conference

In association with ACSeS and SLG

This is the first joint legal conference between ACSeS and SLG joint chaired by Andrew Frosdick, Barnsley MBC and Stephen Turner, Hull City Council, which is taking place at the Great North Museum, it will be a great opportunity to network with colleagues in the region and share your views and experiences.

Key speakers at the conference include the Chief Executive of Gateshead Council, Roger Kelly, and the President of the Law Society for England and Wales, Robert Heslett, who will both be discussing the role of solicitors within local government.

The plenary topics covered on the day will include Information Law, Data Protection and Freedom of Information by Ibraham Hasan, Actnow Training; Well Being by Colin Crawford, Kings Chambers and Local Authority Judicial Review by Philip Engelman, Trinity Chambers.

There will be several workshops taking place throughout the day which will provide you with the opportunity to choose specific sessions that are of interest to you and enable you to gain the most from the day’s conference.
