This course will help you to:
- Comment upon draft reports to Committee and minutes of Committee meetings
- Decide when to intervene in discussion at Committee about planning obligations
- Advise Members and Officers on what can be sought by way of planning obligation
- Decide when an application needs to be referred back to Committee after a resolution to grant
- Avoid legal pitfalls when drafting agreements
- Help you to negotiate with respect to specific issues such as affordable housing, highway works, education and provision of public open space
- Enforce planning agreements
- Consider the effect the Community Infrastructure Levy will have on the drafting of s106 Agreements
A day to help identify ‘risk’ areas for local planning authorities in terms of judicial challenge, appeal and inability to effectively enforce obligations.
