----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A practical day exploring notebook and tape recorded interviews (codes C and E).

Delegates will alternate between theory and practical exercise. The theory includes a systematic approach to interviews to ensure PACE compliance and important questions that are necessary to prove the offence are not overlooked. Preparation is regarded to be a key stage in the process and therefore plays a significant part of the course.

The course will include a practical exercise on:

  • Interview preparation and
  • PACE Interviewing

The course also covers other key aspects of interviewing including common pitfalls and when to caution. It resolves important issues such as admissibility of unsolicited comments and conversations which have taken place before offences have been committed.

The course will be of particular interest to anyone who is new to PACE interviews. Experienced officers also find this of use as a refresher and to acquire a greater understanding of the theory which often leads to misunderstandings and mistakes being made.

" A thoroughly enjoyable, beneficial and a excellent course" - "Enjoyed the course. Jack Henriques was prepared and able to answer all of the questions passed and he was very knowledgeable "
