Climate Change Conference
Climate change remains one of the priority areas for local government. How far this issue has come up the governmental agenda was demonstrated by its role in the recent General Election and by David Cameron stating that his will be the “greenest government ever”.
In a challenging financial environment many local authorities will not yet have given this area sufficient consideration. But with the new financial incentives introduced by the former government (the Feed in Tariffs), the commercial case for low carbon and renewable energy work has changed significantly.
This event will go through all of the relevant material for someone required to get into this area, or wanting a refresher and update. It will consider the policy and legislative framework, the international and EU element, energy procurement, developing a low carbon economy, introducing renewable energy and will look at key regulatory issues and functional areas.
This one day event will cover every need for those needing to know more about climate change, and tasked with advising on what a local authority should now be doing moving forwards.
